We Moved Our Two-Person Startup Into a LOFT Cabin. Here Is What Happened.

Rahul Tiwari and Priya Bapat co-founded their content and brand strategy firm, Aanchor Studio, in Nagpur in late 2024.

For the first eight months, they worked the way most early-stage co-founders in India work. Separately, from their own homes, meeting two or three times a week at a cafe in Dharampeth to sync up.

It was functional. But something important was missing.

The Problem With Distance

"When your co-founder is not in the same room, the collaboration is slower," Rahul says. "You do not have the quick five-minute conversations. Everything becomes a call or a message. You spend twenty minutes explaining something that would have taken two minutes in person."

They had considered renting a small office in Nagpur, but the economics of a two-person team did not make sense at their stage.

The LOFT Option

They came across LOFT through a founder they knew at a networking event. The idea of a private cabin in a coworking space fit exactly what they were looking for.

They visited LOFT 1 at IT Park on a Tuesday afternoon, spent twenty minutes looking at the cabin, and made a decision before they left the building.

What Changed After Moving In

"The quality of our work together improved almost immediately because the quality of our daily communication improved. That is just proximity. You cannot replicate it over WhatsApp."

They had two client introductions in their first three months. One from a casual conversation in the common area. Another at a LOFT Night where Priya briefly described what Aanchor Studio does.

"The cabin gave us a base. The community gave us reach we did not expect."

Aanchor Studio is now a team of four. They are looking at the six-seater cabin next door.

The four-seater at LOFT is Rs.30,000 per month. Split two ways, that is Rs.15,000 each. For two founders who need to work closely together in Nagpur, with no setup cost, that is a straightforward number to evaluate.
